    Acoustic screens

Acoustic screens are used as partition wall, for example in between workstations. These screens can also be used to flexibly arrange the space because they can simply be relocated. All our acoustic screens have excellent absorption values, meaning noise is absorbed to a high extent.

With an extensive collection of acoustic dividers, desk screens and table screens, there is always a solution that suits your interior.

When do you use acoustic screens?

Acoustic dividers or screens are used in a variety of ways. When are they most effective? And when is it better to choose a different solution? Firstly, a desk screen provides a physical demarcation. This means that any distractions caused by seeing someone talking or moving are reduced. This increases privacy. For this reason, you could also choose the wood or metal divider in a certain sense. However, this has its drawbacks in terms of noise.

This brings us to the most important and second reason to choose an acoustic screen: noise reduction between source and receiver. A screen has to muffle the sound between two people. And there are quite a few differences between the screens here.  How much noise reduction a screen provides depends on various factors.

After all, good soundproof screens stop sound. They block or isolate the sound between source and receiver. This is different from how much a screen absorbs. This means that a screen’s absorption value is not so relevant. How much a screen blocks sound depends on the structure and height of the screen.

What should you pay attention to?

    Height

Ideally, a screen extends to the ceiling, turning it into a closed partition. In this way, a screen could also be measured on a transmission value / insulation value. For a closed wall, other types of partition walls are probably better.

Because this is not realistic and practical, we recommend making an acoustic screen at least 150 cm high. In this way, the screen is higher than sitting people and speech sound is less easy to get across. A lower soundproof screen is not very effective.

    Absorption and mass

In order to counteract noise, mass is needed. To muffle sound and not make it reflect, absorption is needed.

An acoustic screen therefore ideally has this combination. A good example is our EASYphoto screen. With a solid core and absorption on both sides and a photo of your choice, this is a good option as a sound screen office.

    Good room acoustics

If you have poor acoustics, it is not wise to purchase an acoustic partition first. We recommend that you first tackle the acoustics with the right acoustic ceiling and wall solutions. If you do not do this, reverberation and indirect sound through reflections will overshadow the effect of the partition.

With good acoustics an acoustic divider or screen works even better.

Are you unsure whether the poor acoustics are due to too much reverberation or direct sound? Do you doubt whether you should invest in an acoustic screen or wall and ceiling panels? We can quickly and accurately identify the sound problem and provide you with the right advice.  Please contact us by phone or e-mail.

    Finishing

In addition to optimum performance, the finish is of course important. After all, an acoustic sound barrier is also the decoration of an office, call centre, school or other room. Nowadays, there is plenty of choice in this area. We offer screens with acoustic felt, beautiful design fabrics or with a photo or other print.

And how about an acoustic divider / screen that also functions as a planter? The EASYfelt Planter is a sleek acoustic divider that is mobile and in which you can place plants. Acoustics and green combined.
